HomeFinder Dorset is the name of East Dorset District Council's Choice Based Lettings Scheme. Choice based lettings is a system where you can choose which home you would like, in an area you want to live, rather than waiting for an offer that someone else thinks is suitable.
Homefinder Dorset is a simple and clear way of finding a home for rent in the East Dorset area from housing providers such as housing associations.
You can view all available properties using the property search option on the left and applicants who have been accepted onto East Dorset District Council's housing register can also register an interest for those properties through a process called 'bidding'.
At present this scheme is not available for applicants on the Christchurch Borough Council Housing Register.

On 18th December 2013 Christchurch and East Dorset Councils introduced a new Joint Housing Allocations Policy which incorporates the recommendations of the Localism Act 2011. These changes include giving greater priority to local residents, people who contribute financially to the area through employment, and members of the Armed Forces.
